Professional Welding Barrier Cream
Protect your welders from harmful UV radiation with South Africa's most trusted industrial barrier cream. Specifically formulated for arc welding environments.
Why Welders Choose Our Barrier Cream
Prevents Arc Eye
100% UV-C protection prevents painful photokeratitis (arc eye) caused by welding flash exposure.
Protects Welder's Neck
Critical protection for the vulnerable neck area often exposed beneath welding helmets.
Prevents Skin Cancer
Daily protection against cumulative UV damage that leads to melanoma and other skin cancers.
Sweat Resistant
Maintains protection even in hot welding environments with heavy perspiration.
Understanding Welding UV Radiation
Arc Welding Produces Intense UV Radiation
The welding arc emits UV radiation up to 30 times stronger than the sun. This includes:
UV-C (100-280nm)
Most dangerous - causes severe burns in seconds
UV-B (280-315nm)
Causes sunburn and direct DNA damage
UV-A (315-380nm)
Penetrates deep causing premature ageing
Common Welding UV Injuries
- Flash Burn (Arc Eye): Painful corneal inflammation occurring 6-12 hours after exposure
- Welder's Neck: Severe burns and skin cancer on unprotected neck areas
- Chronic Skin Damage: Accelerated ageing and increased melanoma risk
- Cataracts: Long-term UV exposure damages eye lens clarity
